Founded in 1972, Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) is the national advocacy association for the interior design profession. As the national advocacy body, IDC represents more than 5,000 members including fully qualified interior designers and related professionals.

Communications & Marketing Coordinator

The Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) is a non-profit advocacy association representing over 5,000 members in the interior design world. Their small but collaborative team is seeking a Communications & Marketing Coordinator to drive and deliver on communications, marketing, and advertising activities.  Working under the Director, Communications & Marketing, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that support the organization’s mandate.


  • Draft various communications materials for programs, events, IDC’s blogs, partner publications and trade shows
  • Draft and edit the monthly partnership news and promotions and their career centre (industry job postings)
  • Manage from start to finish, in collaboration with the IDC team, the Awards & Honours program
  • Update the organization’s website and related news and event pages on a continuous basis
  • Help develop social media plans for annual events and manage IDC’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) with relevant industry news, research, and timely discussions
  • Participate at tradeshows and events to promote IDC and the interior design profession
  • Edit various marketing and communications materials as requested
  • Work with the Manager, Industry Partnerships to manage various events and communications for members in order to maximize media exposure for programs


  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or business administration
  • Experience with creating communications and marketing campaigns, strategies, and plans
  • Proven experience in social media and online marketing
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and communications skills
  • Ability to meet competing deadlines and work well within a small team
