Quality Improvement Lead

Full-time permanent position

The Quality Management Partnership (the Partnership) is a joint initiative of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) and Cancer Care Ontario to design and implement quality management programs in pathology, mammography and colonoscopy. CPSO is seeking a collaborative and relationship builder to join the Partnership as a Quality Improvement (QI) Lead.

 In this key role, you will work to enhance physicians’ and allied health professionals’ understanding of quality improvement skills and methods in relation to the Partnership’s quality management programs. You will coordinate the design and implementation of education and training events supported by a learning management system, develop leading practice champions, curate quality improvement tools and resources, as well as design and implement a QI outreach support program.

 As the subject matter expert, you will be involved in matters of quality improvement methodology, knowledge translation, change management and engagement. You will also be responsible for:  developing and maintaining working relationships with key players within Ontario’s quality improvement landscape and with key players within service provider’s clinical environments; identifying and leveraging existing products and programs to support engagement and the development and delivery of training for service providers; and facilitating meetings, working groups and presentations to committees, and other audiences.

Qualifications:

  • One of: IDEAS 9 day program, IHI Improvement Advisor certification, Lean or Six Sigma green belt, American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification
  • Masters level degree in health-related discipline, regulated health professional preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing quality improvement initiatives in a multidisciplinary health service/wellness team
  • Excellent project planning and management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Strong adaptability to manage a demanding portfolio and thrive in a complex team environment while meeting program deliverables
  • Familiar with the Ontario health system
